What should I do its like i like him and then i hate him like the song by katy perry hot n cold?

ok so there is this guy at my school and i really like him so i asked his friend to talk to him for me and the kid i like (jimmy) said he liked me too. so i started hanging out with him in the halls and stuff then his other friends are like he doesn't like you at all and i was like but a lot of his friends said he did and when i ask him he just says he doesn't know. so he told half his friends he likes me and half that he doesn't. i don't know what to do. when i see him and talk to him i start to like him and then when his buds are around and hes walkin with me or something he'll just b like yeah w/e go away. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?! HELP ME PLEASEEEE!!!!
