What do you think about Communion?

In the Old Testament it talks about how a man shall not eat nor drink blood because it is in abomination to God. Deuteronomy 12:16-24 speaks against this practice. Jews do not believe in communion because of the very verses i just gave you. The Bible clearly speaks against eating blood. Also, the bible speaks against cannibalism. Even the symbolic meaning of drinking blood and eating a man's flesh is cannibalism. How can people not see that communion seems to be a pagan idea. If God doesn't change, like most people say, his words from the OT would not change. what do you think
