I have terminal pancreatic cancer and have set myself a goal of catching 101 different types of fish before I die. To date I have travelled to New Zealand, the Great Barrier Reef and the Hawkesbury River notching up 29 different species (all catch and release). I am now heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria at the end of April and Canada to catch salmon in July. If I succeed in reaching the 101 species, I'll just add more to the list and keep fishing. The challenge is keeping me going and I have already defied medical predictions of my life expectancy.
